Laura “Funk God” Becker is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and speaker known for her distinct funkadelic style. An eminent figure in the de-transition movement, she approaches complexities in the gender discussion and beyond through a psychoeducational and philosophical lens for discovering truth and exposing illusions. 

At the foundation of her philosophy is her persona and brand Funk God, where she creates surreal art, designs funkadelic apparel, and makes meaningful digital content based in reimagined Taoist ideals of balance, groove, and synchronicity. Colorful and unique home goods, her De-trans Awareness collection of advocacy shirts, stickers, and protest items are available in her Funk God Etsy store.  

As a survivor of gender medicalization, Becker has been interviewed by numerous media outlets, published seminal essays, podcasts, and videos, and traveled internationally sharing her experiences and insights. She also offers Q&As for curious free-thinkers, and runs a de-trans awareness funding campaign. Becker models an authentic process of healing through creative expression from trauma and personal growth to a wide community.
